Work the Web and Find What You Want at the Price You Want

Posted on | April 18, 2008 |

In the last week I’ve been approached by 3 reporters doing stories on e-shopping and how interactive technology is making the fashion shopping experience better. Thought ebrand should get a look at a few of my discoveries so here they are –

1. I’m obsessed with Zappos’ shopper reports on how a shoe fits. Should you buy a size up? Are they comfortable? Case in point 114 people reviewed Michael Kor’s Bleeker

74% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe “Felt true to size”
84% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe “Felt true to width”
81% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe had “Moderate arch support” And some reviews that might make you keep searching - Cute, and if you call AGONY “comfort”, then buy them - No wonder they are on sale!

2. Price Alerts. See something you love, but allergic to paying full retail? I am. So here’s what you do. Sign-up on ShopittoMe.com and you’ll get a daily email that clues you in when your favorite brands get marked down, or if you know exactly what you want, go to shopstyle.com – search for the item and then click to be notified when the price drops.

3. Get live help at Bluefly, SmartBargains and others. Not finding what you’re looking for or just not sure if it’s going to fit. If a visitor searches for more than three items in five minutes, thereby demonstrating more than a passing interest, a customer service rep will instant message you to help close the deal. These reps are knowledgeable about inventory and sizing so they can help guide you to an item that will suit your If you don’t know which site to start shopping on try LivePersonalShoppers.com where you can choose among several shoppers who will provide product suggestions in such areas as apparel, accessories, gifts, home furnishings, wine and cosmetics.
